Description
A small family run brewery in the heart of South Yorkshire with the core aim of creating quality ales. We use no added sugar, all our ales are purely brewed with the finest ingredients. We have zero waste with all our left over malts and hops going to the local cows! Our first ever brew that has remained our most popular beer is New York Pale that was brewed to celebrate the New York Stadium Beer Festival. We actually sold out of all our beer in record time! We have several core beers with specials being brewed regularly to satisfy all tastes. Our core ales have accumulated some fantastic awards with our infamous Two Magpies Porter winning the Champion Beer of Beers 2018. In 2020 we also expanded to brewing a Helles and a Pilsner style lager.

Tap. Chantry Inn. Needed 8p off the last hand of dominoes to break even and ended up 4p up. What a player. Definitely a crisp and clean pils. Drinks easy. Saaz hops at a guess. Good gear.

Keg at the New York Tavern, Rotherham. Pours clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light grassy hop and faint malt. Taste is more of the same. Light sweet finish.

Cask. Chantry Inn. Almost certainly a re-badge job but I can find no information on it. Or a pic. And any I take aren’t suitable because that background thing doesn’t work for me. But who gives that much of a fuck? Anyway. This was crap. End of the barrel job and I couldn’t be arsed telling the landlord Terry (no, really) because he’s a mardy arse. I drank it then went on to Chantry Helles while getting thumped at dominoes.

Cask. Chantry Inn. Clear reddy brown. Off white creamy swede. Nose has sweet malt. Some fruity hop. Whiff of sulphur. Reminded me a little bit of Wards bitter. Maybe that was the idea. Taste is fairly sweet with a moderate leafy hop bitterness. Drinks well at the lowly ABV. Light bitter finish.
