Cask at the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a murky dark brown colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, light grassy hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, somewhat rich, fresh, dry, spicy, hop bitter palate with a lingering bitter finish. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. More like a black IPA than a stout.

Smudiknudi.

Cask at the Robin, Crouch Hill on 1st April 2025. Almost impenetrably black with tan foam and full lacing. Rich and complex roasty malt aroma with some yeastiness. Roasty in-mouth with spices, ripe berries and coffee. A burnt coffee roast finish. Tangy citrus on the upper palate. Full bodied with an engaging texture. Well crafted.

The Southern Ocean is the only one of the World's gear oceans I have yet to see. Carbonated golden ale, good head, crisp tropical fruit in both aroma and taste with a sweetness to proceedings.

Keg pour at the Steamworks in the interesting sea resort of Seaford in Sussex. Clear golden with a small glow and a small head. Very dry and quite hoppy with hints of fruit. Fair, although not entirely sure what the brew is aiming to be.
