(Cask at Black Door, 20140301) The beer poured golden and almost clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had sweetness, earth, grass and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, earth, hint of toffee, some malts and lowish bitterness. Aftertaste had English hops and bitterness. More like a golden ale than a bitter but still decent.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket i heimen 30 Aug 13. Dyp rødbrun. Middels høyt skum som daler raskt. Litt lacing. Forsiktig aroma av røstet malt. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er lakris & søt røstet malt. Ettersmak av sjokolade & litt kaffe. En lett-drikkelig porter.

Aroma is rather fruity with some hops and caramel tones. Flavour is a bit musty with minerals, toffee and grainy tones. Also hints of caramel. Too English but decent anyway
