12 ounce bottle. Pours a pure black color with a medium brown head. A rich sweet malty nose. The flavor is very sweet, sugary, a bit of sweet glue, light brown sugar, roast, vanilla, some dark fruit. Too unbalanced, super sweet. Decent.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden orange color with a nice 2-3 finger fairly dense khaki head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Some good spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel, pine, biscuit, orange, honey, citrus zest, and herbal spiciness. Really malty aromas here for an IPA, with ok balance. Taste of caramel, pine, biscuit, orange, grapefruit, and big herbal spiciness. Huge spicy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pine, pine, pine, herbal spiciness, and light caramel for a while. Quite a lot off balance with the flavors, way too much pine and herbal spiciness. Medium bodied with fairly elevated prickly carbonation; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with only a warming on the finish noticed. Smooth to drink despite all of the pine. Overall this is not anywhere near what I look for in an IPA. I finished it though, so it wasn’t a complete wreck.

Bottle. Pours a deep and almost reddish amber with a massive head that has me fearing infection. Aromas aren’t there... a little brown sugar and a very faint floral smell is it. Flavor is absolutely unconvincing as an IPA... it is a caramel and toffee-driven Amber Ale at best. A little bit of herbal and medicinal hops quickly brush across the palate and finish is spicy, but I wouldn’t give this to a buddy as an example of an IPA.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Surprisingly light palate, semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Sweetish dark toffee malt, no roast or bitterness. Softish smooth finish. Mild fruits underneath. Alright.

Bottle at Chriso’s Easter tasting 2012 at 8.2%. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is caramel, toffee, spice, cake, roasted malt and charcoal. The taste is cola, caramel, brown sugar, milk chocolate, hay and roasted malt, with a bitter-sweet finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite light and sweet, but easy drinking.

Received in trade from barak316, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a solid black with a small creamy tan head that shows some retention. Smells of milk chocolate, lactose, coffee, and roasted grains. The bottle says Imperial stout, but this smells like a sweet stout. Taste is creamy with milk chocolate and caramel and bits of roast and coffee. Tastes like a sweet stout as well. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet coffee milk kind of mouthfeel. This is a nice milk stout that doesn’t show one bit of its 9.2% abv.

Sample at the Columbus Winter Beerfest on 01/14/2012: The beer pours brownish-black with a thin tan head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt and coffee. Medium to full body with a mocha character and notes of hops and caramel. The finish is sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
