[7/17] Can. 10C, I was happier as it warmed. Black with a small tan head that’s soon less than a coat but never quite goes. Rich mocha fudge aroma with hints of oranges, cardamon and mace. Nice but not very assertive. Sweet but short of cloying with lots of chocolate, some bread. Modest but distinct roast. Teensy bit of Ribena. Bitterness really creeps up after a while but although it becomes prominent it isn’t harsh and the hop aromatics are complementary. Warming throughout but there’s no raw booze. Not the most thrilling big stout but solid and nicely balanced. $A25 a 4pk for a good beer of this strength is pretty much unheard of. [3.7]2018 version is 12% ABV. Aroma again is quite subdued. Seems to have less body. Lots of oranges and spices - you'd almost think there was some peel in it. Quite hoppy with bitterness that scythes through and tropical (lychee) as well as spicy notes. Less of a stout but more intriguing than last time.

From a 375ml can on 29/7/2017. pours a cloudy light golden with a smallish head. Has a modest light tropical nose. Flavour wise, it starts with bready and biscuity malt, followed by lots of citrus and some tropical fruit, though it’s not particularly sweet. It finishes with a medium, slightly spicy bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A pretty well made, sessionable pale.

Can. Hazy gold with a fading white head. Aroma of mildly funky wheat, spices, mellow citrus. Yeah,I can believe those are gin botanicals. Just tangily sour with some sweet citrus underneath, spicy, moderately salty and just slightly bitter at the end. The first gose I’d go out of my way to have again. 7374 14

Can. Hazy gold with a large white head. Slightly shy aroma of peach and biscuit, with some mandarin and a little pine. Light bodied, slightly creamy. Soft sweet biscuit, some fruit but a lot more pine than suggested by the aroma. Pretty strong bitterness. Interesting, slightly disjointed. More bitterness than aromatics from the hops. Maybe this one would be a grower.

375ml can into shaker. Huge ring-pull takes the whole top off the can! Pours a murky bronze like caramel sauce. Big solid foamy white head. Quite subdued nose of nutty, earthy hops. Surprisingly light body and a little fizz makes for easy drinking. The finish is long and complex alternating between herbal, fruit and earth notes. Malt is present but could be more pronounced. I’ve liked the other beers I’ve tried from this brewery but this one....not so much.

This appears to be the third (different) version of this beer on RB. Perhaps this brewery’s two sections (Margaret River WA, Port Melbourne VIC) are running different products? Anyway.......375ml can into shaker. Opens like a can of beans to release a whiff of fruity, earthy goodness. Hazy amber beer with frothy white head. Some tiny bubbles. Lightly zingy. Excellent tropical flavours with aspirin bitter finish. Cleansing and surprisingly full bodied for 4.4%.

A fantastic beer with aromas of grapefruit, tangerine and coriander leading into an impressive combination of hops to cover for the low alcohol. You could smash a six pack of these on a warm day. Or a cool night.

On tap at Keg & Brew, pours a cloudy filthy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out oranges, dirty yeast and resinous hops. Flavour is similar, with lots of filthy yeast, oranges, and earthy hops. Very dirty and earthy, with too much yeast. Not a good IPA.
