Can. Black. A tan coat is soon at the rim. Plainish aroma of mocha, some whisky, Indian sweets. Full bodied, low carbonation. Smooth but wouldn't really guess lactose. Mocha, singed caramel, only hints of whisky really. Licorice emerges. Nicely judged bitterness gathers things up at the end. Tasty but a bit simple for 10%

Tap at Gavel, Kuala Lumpur. Slightly hazy amber body, off-white head. Ice tea and tropical touches, dry, bit minerally. Lean dry taste, very dry, berries, peach ice tea, malty touches, minerally. Not much bitterness. Okay, fine basic hoppy ale.

Can. Pale gold with a rocky cm of white head. Shyish aroma of lemon pudding, crackers, some floral notes. A bit more assertive upon a taste - on the dry side with citrus, crackers, slight floral and tropical notes, modest bitterness that is sufficient given the light, dry palate. Decent quaffer.

Can. Fairly hazy orange with a good cm of white head. Aroma of mango, passionfruit, Asian pineapple, light bread - nice but threatens to be very sweet. Somewhat vague soft texture but not chalky or sludgy with loads of tropical fruit and a welcome sharpening herbal note towards the v modestly bitter finish. A bit on the sweet side for me still, but good.

Can, part of the pre-GABS pack. Pale amber, white head. Gentle blood orange led citrus aroma with soft bread. So it tastes. Lacks body. Moderate bitterness at a well off dry finish. Fair enough but a way off the Dainton one.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with loose white head. Pleasant aroma of pine, with passionfruit notes. Light bodied with bright carbonation. Sour and fruity with some crisp hoppy bitterness developing. The fruitiness is mainly tart and citric and not obviously passionfruit. To me the somewhat harsh bitterness does not go well with the tart fruitiness. A bit odd.

(Can) Pours clear pale gold with big, but transient, white head. Nice aroma of lemon and stone fruit. Light body with plenty of somewhat fizzy carbonation. Taste is nice a tart from start to finish, primarily lemon / citrus, but with some interesting yoghurty notes. Some vinous hints. Unusual, enjoyable, refreshing.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some earthy and mild grainy notes. Flavour is herbal, grassy, some floral and mild toffeeish tones with some bread. Smooth and mildly bitter.

330ml can from Gavel, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, herbal, light citrus, floral, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
