Bottled. Well, a little rate whoring to pass the time to #700 and fill in another country. Well, opens with a rather oxydized and somewhat skunky smell (green bottle? hello?). Pours pale gold Sudsy white head retreats, leaving clumps of bubbles on the glass. I don’t think I’ve had anything with Bullet hops before, and this is, well, distinctive. Big bitterness with a side of grass that over balances the weak hops. As yet another macro type beert, at least it’s a bit different, but just not a very pleasant experience.

Pour is a clear yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is of burnt malt. Flavor is pretty bland but crisp. Inoffensive but that’s not really a selling point.

330ml bottle. Not sure what this is. Deep gold, thin white head, some interesting red berries and some malt. Feels in mouth like a lager with very faint infusion of strawbeery. Fine but too gassy

Clear yellow color, short head. Bit grainy aroma. Quite light and watery in taste. Just average.

(Bottle 33 cl) Oh sweet memories, this was a clear favourite of mine many years ago in New Zealand. In particular I loved the fantastic aroma hops. Just smelling this beer was half the pleasure. But either my memory is failing me or my dearly beloved Steinie has really declined in recent years.
Pilsener golden with a decent, creamy head leaving a pretty lacework. Decent malty body and a hoppy finish. Just another ordinary lager. Sadness... 030805

Bottled. Pale golden colour, small foamish white head. Malty and hoppy nose. Malty flavour which turns into biting hops in finish. Clean lager, but nothing very special.

Bottled (BB 04/2006)
Yellow, small white head. Sticky aroma, harsh - maybe from malts. Starts watery, in the middle nice flowery hoppy flavor. Clean, well-made lager with some extra hoppyness to make it over the many other standard lagers.

Bottle. Light grassy malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Flavor matches aroma - light grassy malt with mild hops finish. Light and smooth. Not a spectacular tasting beer but I like it.

330 ml bottle, London. Pale golden sparkling beer, poor head. Moderate hops and grass in the aroma. A tolerable amount of hops in the flavour makes this beer A LITTLE better than the average swill lager. Won’t buy again, though. I you want a good NZ lager, look for Emersons in stead!
