Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Gold with thin white head. Incredibly smooth. Doesn’t taste of 6%. Some nice citrusy fruits, some hop sting on end. Like Summer Lightning used to be. Good condition fruits are like pink grapefruit, very fleshy. Excellent.

[i] Cask at Smithfest, Smithfield pub, Derby, 08-09-07 [/i] Poured a mid gold colour, with some floral notes on the aroma. Tasted honey sweet, but with floral flavour occasionally poking through, finishes bitter but sweetness is always present and sweeps over each mouthful. Whilst described as a wheat in the programme it didn’t instantly feel like one, but a good beer nonetheless.

Cask @ Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Smooth malty and very fruity flavor with some hoppy hints. Long malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Clear amber. Resiny hops and cookie malt cuts this beer in halves between them. It’s light-medium bodied and medium dry with caramelly clean mouthfeel and lingering resiny bitterness.

Cask (handpump) @ Wellington, B2, Birmingham. Clear medium yellow orange color with a small, creamy / fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, flowers, citrus, moderate toffee, butter. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and moderate bitter, middle flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, finish flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter, with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask (handpump) @ The Swan, ST15, Stone. Unclear light amber color with a small virtually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, fruity, apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, light acidic, with a average duration. (Fruit sweet and bitter / acidic). Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Cask condition, handpull at Wenlock Arms. Black beer with brown edges, tan head. This is a pretty good stout. Nice charcoal. some decent dark fruits and chocolate. I like the toasty parts on it.

Cask condition, gravity at Wenlock Arms. Gold/copper colour with no head. Earthish bitter, some odd tangerine and mud. Hey, it’s a bitter which is pretty decent from a new brewery to most of us I think.
