Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.

Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

Bomber from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is mildly apple/cinnamon with a hint of nutmeg. Med body or so. Flavor is very apple/cinnamon/nutmeg with some chocolate aspects. Pleasant, but not quite as “porter” as expected. Fairly dry; some earthy, bitter chocolate. It’s like shooting for Mars and missing by a slight amount. Drinkable, but ????????

On tap. Pour black with short tan head. Aromas of sour black coffee, roasted malts, coconut and light wordy bourbon. Flavors follow same with dark sugary fruit, graham cracker, nuts and an emphasis on oaky bourbon. Still a nice balance. Tasty and complex.

Thinnish dark brown. Soft, touch of sugar. Thin body too.Nothing foreign about it. Also, past its prime, so maybe not the best time to make that assessment.

Rich chewy malts, lots of alcohol, soft fruits, light booziness. I'm not sure the age that's been put on it has done either positive or negative - would like more heat taken off.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with bourbon barrels, followed by subdued roasted malt. Flavour is less barrel-heavy, with moderate bourbon character, a touch of smoke, and medium roasted malt. This has held up very well. Really nicely balanced and a lovely dipper. Excellent.
