First beers seen from the Y Bragdy Mws Piws / Purple Moose Brewery were at Worcester Beer Festival in August 2002. They were brewed at Moor. The brewery first brewed 14th June 2005 following the acquisition of a new site and a 10BBL plant formerly in use at Harviestoun. Expanded again in 2013 to a 40BBL plant.

From a 33 cl bottle shared at the RateBeer mini tasting in Dec 2015. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Aroma of peat. Flavors of smoke and caramel. Smooth, short finish.

Bottle courtesy of minutemat, thank you sir! Crystal clear deep bright golden color, pretty close to flat. Aroma is pure whisky, actually smells quite nice. Taste is also whisky, vanilla, toasted caramel. Tasty, but the beery characteristics are lost.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Reddish chestnut with a tight beige head; biscuity aroma; soft plummy fruit taste, but rather thin; with a light bitterness and a biscuity finish.

Cask at the Briar Rose; dark brown pour a frothy beige head, roast malt aroma, taste has light roast and fruit.

Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Purple Moose Danger Moose ].Clear medium to dark orange amber color with a small to average, open and frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, sweet malt, caramel. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, candy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141009]

Cask at the moon under water Watford jdw. Reddy chestnut brown coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured head. Aroma is spicy plummy fruits, nutty, jammy fruits. Flavour is composed of nutty, brown sugars and plummy jammy fruits, faint choc. Palate is medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Lingering tangy fruits and a little sweet.
