Cask-conditioned at the Pelican, Gloucester, 5/6/2015. Golden in colour, with a decent, white, head. Some citrus fruit upfront, followed by subtle elderflower notes, biscuity malts and a moderately bitter finish. Pleasant

Cask @ Black Bull, Bangor. Clear golden with a creamy head and smooth tasting texture. Has a mild hoppy character that’s slightly dry. There’s a small berry sweet fruitiness here.

Pours light, thin foam, super pale and looks watery. Aroma is nice, bit of citrus, light and lemony. Taste is also very subtle, easy and drinkable. You should drink this by pints and pints.

Seeing it labelled as a porter the appearance wasn’t at all what I expected as it poured a dark but clear, reddish-amber colour. Slight bitter aroma, maybe a bit of toasted malt. Tastes of toffee, a bit of bitter malt and there’s an airy banana taste which lingers after as well. Not what I expected (fairly certain it’s not a porter!) but decent.

Cask. Appearance is dark brown, a small beige head. Malty, toffee aroma. Taste is dark malt, toffee and caramel, hint of chocolate. Pretty good, although it didn’t really seem much like a porter.

Pint on tap at Tyn-Y-Groes hotel. Slight malt nose, bronze ale with tiny white head. Nice mouthfeel. Good bitterness with malt undertones. Solid but unspectacular.
