Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light malt hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light, slightly watery malt, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. A drinkable, light session ale, but somewhat weak and lacking flavour.

Cask at the 2015 National Winter Ales Festival, The Roundhouse, Derby. Amber pour with a white head. Sweet fruit and malt aromas which segues nicely into the flavour. Quite dry. Not usually a fan of Six nation beers but this went down well. A very good ’try’ I must say.

Cask at Rushden Historical Transport Society Club. Light transparent brown with a hint of red. Aroma of chocolate milk and wood shavings. Tiniest hint of smoke. Full and satisfying sweet taste, with a bit of sweet/savoury play on the back of the tongue. Almost like a salt plum taste. I had this at GBBF (pre-RB) a few years ago, but don’t remember it being as nice as this. It’s simple but fits together nicely. A bit more like a strong-ish mild than a porter though.
