Cask-conditioned at the Three Tins, Bristol 23/11/10. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, caramel and berry fruit aroma with a touch of roasted malt. Flavour was similarly sweet, with red fruits and a decent, bitter finish. Good.

Brassy colour. The aroma mixes toast and caramel. Mild, toasty character with slight juiciness in the finish but otherwise pretty boring.

Bottle, Spar, Bethesda, Snowdonia. Dark ruby tinged brown pour with a thin tan head. Sweet nose with notes of cola and redcurrant, quite unusual. Flavour had further fruitiness with some roasted malt present and notes of dark chocolate and nuts. Medium bitter finish. Pretty decent.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 1/11/10. Opaque, jet black with a decent tan head. Big aroma of chocolate, dark fruit, root ginger and bay leaves. Flavour had plenty of bitter chocolate, a big herbal edge and more fruit, before a spicy, bitter finish. too much going on for a session beer, but unusual and challenging in a positive way.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 1/11/10. Deep gold with a slight white head. Sweetish aroma of apricot with a whiff of diacetyl and some grassy hops. Easy drinking, with more fruit, cereal malts and a decent bitter finish. Ok, despite the butterscotch.

@ Raven, Bath. Bright orangey-amber. The aroma is a bit toasty with some chocolate accents. Decent bitterness, toast, light chocolate. The flavour is a bit heavy for such a light beer.
