First beers seen from the Y Bragdy Mws Piws / Purple Moose Brewery were at Worcester Beer Festival in August 2002. They were brewed at Moor. The brewery first brewed 14th June 2005 following the acquisition of a new site and a 10BBL plant formerly in use at Harviestoun. Expanded again in 2013 to a 40BBL plant.

15th July 2010. Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear amber gold beer. Residual suddy head. Light dry palate. A little orange dry fruit. Finishes dry. Respectable.

Very pale ale with no head. Bit grainy nose, duck-weed, and impression of a slight sourishness. Bit peppery flavour, grainy and sweet notes, as from pale malts. Light body, bit watery, spritzy. Not really special.

2nd December 2008. Clear brown beer, small suddy head. Nice flavour. A lively acrid bitterness with a smooth malt that balances out quite well. A little sour fruit. Good beer but couldn’t drink loads!

1st November 2008. Hazy gold beer. Light and pleasantly fruity. Orange and grapefruit and a little pineapple. Watery but refreshing. Semi dry grapefruit finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. Dark brown with a hint of red and slight, off-white head. Aroma of roasty malts, chocolate and biscuity malts. Flavour had cereal malts, dark fruits and a long bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, keller notes, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090806]

10th July 2008. A pretty standard bitter. Not that hoppy. A bit of malt. Watery and uninspired.

8th July 2008. Fresh clean mild hops. A little apple and a little grapefruit. Semi dry slightly bitter finish. Refreshing and clean.

30th April 2008. Smooth lightly toasted malt with a silky middle and a stab of fruitiness and hoppyness. Unusual and very drinkable.
