Cask @ New Oxford, Salford. Deeper golden with a small head. Its peach is spiritlike in taste minus the spirit strength in taste, although it’s a fairly strong brew and has a hopped nose.

Keg at The Nags Head, Reading, Berks. An amber/red coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Aroma of blueberries. Tastes of blueberry and other berry fruits, quite boozy and not too subtle. Quite interesting but lacking some character.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours a clear, dark cola brown. Sits nearly black in the glass, with a thick, dense, lasting, semi lacing, beige head. Looks the beans. I’m sure the marshmallow addition in this must be strawberry flavoured. Some vanilla. Some dark roast malt. Bit of caramel fudge. Taste is unsurprisingly sweet, to the point of toothache inducing, with just a moderate, roast bitterness. Smooth and a little slick on the palate. Fine carbonation. Light bitterness to finish can’t balance out the huge sweetness. I mean it’s a marshmallow stout, so it’s going to be sweet, but blimey, this is over the top. Great nick, though.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazed gold. Suds of white. Nose has strawberry syrup. Bit of paper. Old hops. Taste is syrupy sweet, with a firm, oily citrus bitterness. A little heavy on the palate. Fine carbonation. Lingering metallic bitterness to finish. Jesus.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazed, medium gold. Thick foam of lasting, just off white head. Final pour ended in huge lumps in the glass. Nose has big fruity hop. Or is it the passion fruit? Very jammy and marmalade like. Taste is pretty sweet, with a light, herbal bitterness. Medium body is a bit sticky and slick. Fine carbonation. Bitterness on the finish turns a bit earthy and acrid. Doesn’t work for me.

Bottle from the Shaking Hand Bottle Shop, Brighouse. Hazy light golden with a small head. This hoppy unfined combination comes across as vinegar in both aroma and taste, still drinkable though, with a striking bitterness. There's some fruitiness but it's all background.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby Pours almost black with amall cream head. Nose is mainly vanilla, which also dominates in the mouth. Along with coffee, dark fruits and oatmeal. Finish is bitter and smoky. Very nice and dangerously drinkable !
