Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Mostly clear, deep chestnut brown. Dense and leggy, sticky tan foam. Looks boss. Nose has chocolate fudge. Touch of liquorice. Tar. Caramel. Chocolate syrup. Plenty of leafy hop. It’s like an amped up CDA. With added chocolate. Taste reflects all that, with beautifully balanced, smooth and creamy malt and punchy, hop bitterness. Silky mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Holy balls, this is good. Lingering black berry fruit bitterness to finish. Great stuff.

Calderdale Beer Festival 2019, Halifax. Black, with its strength obvious, it has a dank floralness to what can be classed as roasted malts.

Calderdale Beer Festival 2019, Halifax. Hazy amber with its wood cask influence subduing the rhubarb and its associated sweetness in this one. It has a full bodied strength but is easy enough in the palate.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Blurb calls this a stout, and is now 7.5%, so obviously a re-brew. Pours a clear, chestnut brown. Fine light tan head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has peanut brittle. Earthy malt. Salted caramel truffle. Definitely does what it says on the bottle. Taste is super sweet, with an earthy, cocoa powder bitterness. Smooth on the palate, with fine carbonation. Lingering cocoa bitterness to finish. Nice beer, despite the earthy notes being a little prominent.
