Description
Proudly Brewed in Yorkshire since 1999
The award-winning Salamander beers was founded in 1999. Dr Daniel Gent (a doctor of brewing and one of Salamander's founders) mission was to bring high quality independently brewed beer to the masses. To this day Salamander continues to surprise and delight its many customers.
And we haven’t lost our touch for beer either.
Brewing ceased in early 2019 and restarted in late Summer 2021.

Cask @ Ring O’Bells, Halifax. Not quite black with a small smooth off-white head. The coffee is more dominant than chocolate in its roasted malts, but it’s disappointingly weak in its taste anyway so neither aspect is properly stated. Has a decent nose.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 15/05/14. Light black to extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan covering that dissipates edgeward. Nose is Bourbon biscuits, light roast, cocoa powder, mellow dark fruits. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, baking powder, ligh charr, biscuit, light roast, hint of spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter, ticks the style boxes but nothing I’d choose to revisit.
