Description
Inspired by a love of delicious drinks to accompany great company and great stories, Ascapart is named after the giant from Southampton's most famous legend - Sir Bevois of Hampton. At 30 feet in height, Ascapart reflects our giant dedication to creating the most delicious beer in small-batches with love and attention. Born from the Mettricks indie cafe-bar group in 2024, we're based at their Portswood site, which is also where the Ascapart Coffee roastery is, serving the freshest beer and coffee to the people of our great city.

1/11/2025. Can at the ITFC beer share. From Hopsters, Ipswich. Lively pour. Very nice aroma. Citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass, herb, grassy, lychee, sweet tropical fruits. Fairly sweet, light bitterness. Moderate body. Oily. Foamy carbonation.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 14/09/2025.
Hazed orange golden topped with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is melon, grass, herb, orange peel.
Taste comprises tangerine, grass, melon, straw.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow leafy hop bitterness.
Passable pale ... a little thin.

9/9/2025. Can from Beer Central, Sheffield. Nice juicy aroma whilst pouring. Citrusy, grassy, touch herbal. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, very soft, quite lively carbonation. A nice late summer refresher.

On tap keg, at the Smithfield, Derby in the company of Dad, Pauline, Scott and Mandy Saturday 7th June 2025. Pours black with a beige head. There's lots of coffee and also some chocolate on the nose, thick in the mouth smooth, nice, really nice.

Can on holiday. Jet black with a tan head. Aroma and taste are sweet to slight bitter coffee. Medium body.

Lightly sweet, pleasant well toasted dark malts, soft coffee notes, bit of bitter earth and black coffee, a little milk chocolate. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Decent balance to finish.

Fra cask på The Rake (Borough Market, hvor jeg bodde i 1983/84 mens det fortsatt var et frukt- og grønnsakmarked): brunsvart med fint skum som varer lenge. Nytraktet kaffe med en skvett Bailey's, mørke dessertchokoklader, marsipan og vanilje i en solid men samtidig slank maltkropp og egentlig ganske tørr, all sjokoladesmaken til tross. Imponerende balansert, og med en mersmak so varte nesten helt bort til Blackfriars Bridge. Topp score på (farlig) lettdrikkelighet.
