Description
As the name implies, Felinfoel brewery is situated in ‘Felinfoel’, a small village adjoining Llanelli in Wales. Historians tell us that in the old days the inn brewed its own beer, but only during the winter months. The keeping qualities and the strength of the beers, therefore, were of prime importance and the popularity of ‘Felinfoel Beer’ led to the local inn brewing for other inns in the locality. This, in turn, led to the present brewery being built in 1878 to accommodate demand.
They became the first UK brewery to can beer in 1935. Still family owned, this is now Wales's oldest brewery.

Pours a clear orange amber colour with a small off white head. Caramel and nutty aroma, some desert apple. Some caramel malt sweetness, again some nut flavours but a bit watery and no depth of flavour or distinct bitterness.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber brown, with little head. Subtle aroma, slightly nutty, slightly appley. Medium body, good carbonation. Unusual and pleasant taste. Red berries in foretaste. Nuts and marzipan develop over this in the mid-palate, and dominate in the finish. Unusual, easy drinking.

Bottle. Dark copper/orange. Not much of a head. Aroma of malts, nuts, marzipan and wet laundry. Taste is malty, nutty and toffee. Some red fruits and a little sourness are calling from the background. Fruity and bitter. A little bit creamy and soapy. Medium carbonation. Smooth and refreshing. I like it.

Bitter klasyczny i konserwatywny, ale zbyt malo gozki jak dla mnie i na ten styl. Brak piany, prawie calkowity, na jeden palec byla. Kolor bursztynowy, klarowny. Zapach kory i lupiny kokosa. W smaku delikatne, malo slodowe i lekko gozkawe

500ml bottle from Aldi - Brown body, off-white head, crystal clear. Nose is caramel toffee heavy, with some red fruits in there. Taste is a little tart, again caramel up front, but with a malty finish which isn’t that pleasant. Watery. Endured it because I’d bought it attitude with this.
