Bottle from HomeBrewStuff. Almost clear golden, lazy carbonation, small airy head. Aroma leans on the hops first, small resiny scents, then some bready grains. Taste follows this formula, mild bitter hoppiness, then some solid malts. Still comes off as an APA though. I guess the ABV moves it into IPA land.

Taster pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is clear greenish yellow with zero sparkle and small, light foamy head. Aroma is citrus, floral. Taste is bittersweet grapefruit and a little bit herbal. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, a mix of juicy sweet and bitter grapefruit, living up to its bicoastal name. Not terribly complex but decent.

Taster pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is clear medium brown with finger-width beige, creamy head. Aroma is a sweet slightly vegetal aroma--a bit like cooked green beans. Taste is strong chocolatey roasted malt but still with sweet cooked green bean quality. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, I get the chocolate that the brewer was going for but don't think they were going for the green bean quality. It's actually not necessarily a bad thing, but it is weird. I'll have to try to get a full beer at some point...

Cascade-heavy IPA, mixing citrus and pine without delving too deep in either direction. Caramel-laden malts seem far too prominent, while the bitter back end is mostly pine and hints of yeast. About as average as an IPA can get.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark brown, almost black, small beige head, streaky lacing. Looks great. Muted aroma, roast grains, coffee. Taste is also a straight forward porter, sharp bitterness. Finishes quick. Good entry level porter.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Hannaford. Appearance is clear, light amber with fair sparkle, 2-finger width frothy beige head with good retention and decent soapy lacing. Aroma is citrus, light tropical fruit, herbs and pine over cereal malt backbone. Taste is dank resin bitter and citrus, with light pine and grains. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and dry, bitter finish. Overall, one of the stronger offerings from this brewer. Interesting complexity, surprising maltiness for a DIPA, though a bit to the bitter side for me.

Draft pour at the Redhook BrewLab, Seattle. Bright golden orange pour. Fun beer to throw in a whiskey barrel here, though I say that whenever anything other than a stout gets the treatment. I feel like the whiskey made a pretty big impression here, though more wood than anything. Not boozy in any way. All flavor. Cool whiskey, easy finish. Very smooth for a 9. Flavorful and unique. Would like to try this one again.

Draft pour at Redhook BrewLab, Seattle. Damn they did a good job with this one. A well executed hop heavy lager has to be one of my favorite styles of beer. Golden orange pour. Sweet orange fruit, paired with a bitter citrus hop aroma. Flavor is a similar quality, same order, a ton of citrus hop character all throughout. Flavorful, refreshing. Stands up well with some good IPA's. Solid beer here.
