Description
Back in the 1980s Terry and Bev McCashin took on New Zealand’s brewing duopoly from a small Nelson factory using their own recipes. They gave people more than just something to drink…they gave us choice. And so began the craft beer revolution…

Bottle. Gold with a white head. Aroma of grain, honey, grass, some spices. Quite full bodied for 4.5%. Sweet and grainy with some honey, decent grassy bitterness. After the amber and the dark a bit disappointing.

[6/11] Bottle, 13C. Dark reddish brown with a light beige head. Aroma is chocolatey with light roast, stewed fruit, nectarines, lychees and grass. Light bodied - it’s pretty thin but the minerally water is a worthy element. Mild chocolate, honey and dark fruits followed by tropical and citrus bitterness. Turns out to be hoppier than it first seems. Not sure this is a porter but it’s good and unmistakably Kiwi. [3.5]Probably not "unmistakably Kiiwi" anymore. But I still like it despite its weak body.

Bottle. Amber with a creamy pale beige head. Aroma of toffee and honey, earthy and floral hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Rich sweet honeyed malts with balancing bitterness. Slightly spicy at the end with a little resin. Straightforward rich amber with nice balance.
