Handbottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Quite a bit of carbonation for a handbottle. Pours with a small white head over a slightly hazy golden body. Aroma is grainy and toasty. Taste is dry, toasty, caramel and bready. Light bubbles.

Thanks to Liz for a growler from Lodi Beer. Pours deep copper with a decent beige head. Aroma of roast malt and light grass and a hint of cat pee. Medium body with moderate, foamy carbonation. There’s caramel, but also a hop bite. Finishes with a hint of toffee. It’s not bitter, but it’s fairly balanced, and much better than most marzens. I’m finding enough hop to make this enjoyable. Wouldn’t be surprised to find this is top fermented.
