Sampled at the 2010 GTMW. Poured a near clear gold with no head. Aroma was full of honey with a bit of a clashing agave note and a hint of lime. Flavor was similar with the agave growing toward the finish and melding a bit better. There was a bit of lime in the finish as well.

Sampled at the 2010 GTMW. Poured a clear gold with no head. Aroma was sweet with honey and melded with the cinnamon and vanilla. Flavor began sweet with both the vanilla and honey. The cinnamon grew to help balanced the mead.

Sampled at the 2010 GTMW. Poured a pinkish rosy red with no head. Aroma was mainly honey though there was a nice underlying berry and grape note. Flavor began sweet with honey but growing berries and a hint of grape meld nicely.

Courtesy tpd975. Pours clear very pale gold with no real head to speak of. The aroma is full up vanilla and followed by honey sweetness and faint cinnamon. The taste is rich and sweet mead syrupy goodness with rich punchy smooth vanilla and some cinnoman in there to fill in the gaps. The word “yummy” keeps coming to mind as I work to drain my glass.

Courtesy tpd975. It pours clear rosy red. The aroma is rich dark sweet berries, some honey meadness and faint chemical booze / heat. Nice. The taste is sweet smooth slick and yummy going from a sweet berry goodness to a sort of drier red wine like note and then back to smooth honey / mead berry decadence. Yum.

another great mead offering by Tampa’s only bee lover, Tpd975. muscat wine like color, no head aroma, gorgeous vanilla nose with notes of cinnamon. flavors, lots of sweet honey, sticky syrupy mouthfeel with vanilla aplenty followed by a very subtle cinnamon adding mild touch of spices along with perfect notes of oak barrel. Warming palate.

Thanks a lot to our favorite beekeeper, tpd975 for the share. Reddish like color, no head aroma, lots of berry goodness, floral and blossom, sweet nectar flowers. flavors, wild berries, boozy, light palate compared to previous B-Nektar. I found the berries to be a tad too over the top, taking away from some of the honey aspects. Still a fine tasty mead.

Bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Another thanks to Greg, tpd975 for sharing this third mead. Bigger bottle and probably my least favorite of the bunch. golden viscous color. Floral and sweet honey with wild flowers giving the palate a nice floral palate. Oak profile is mild and I couldn’t really pick much of sweet vanilla.

Bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Second B.Nektar thanks to Greg, tpd975. Pours viscous golden. Interesting idea of adding lime to the mead, nice mix the honey with lemon/orange giving the mead a very mild lime tart finish. As the mead warms up a little, the lime comes out more prominent and yet subtle. Love the idea but just wasn’t a big fan of the astringent side of the lime (even though it wasn’t too pronounced and ended up balanced out with the orange zest) mixed with the sweet honey profile.

Bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Cheers to Greg, tpd975 for the share. clear golden pour aroma and flavors, not sure what to say, this is an outstanding mead. Load of complexity here, bourbon goodness, lots of woods, warming mouthfeel, herbal note and buckwheat honey. Overall palate is thick and syrupy with lots of sweet honey finished up with the bourbon barrel. Unique and damn tasty. At 17% this one packs a nice punch and yet it sips slowly without the bourbon overpowering the whole experience.
