Dec 2009: 33cl Brown bottle poured into my ’La Chouffe’ tulip shaped glass. The beer was a reddy brown mahogany colour the tan head didn’t stay long, it soon turned into a wisp and collar. Clear and clean with bubbles rising through, when held to the light. Some treacle and malt molasses in the nose but both very faint and had to be sniffed out. The sweetness from the aroma comes to the fore in the taste too, not sickly or nasty, but this is a sweet Bock. Considering the ABV is 6.8% I was a little disappointed with the body depth and richness for the style. Drinkable but not one of the better Bocks I’ve had.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow, white head, a bit floating sediment. Fresh grassy hops on light fruity yeastiness. Good balance between light minerally yest, citrusrind and herbal/grassy hops. Sparkly mouthfeel, medium body. Relatively fast exit.

Bottle. Cloudy brown, off-white lace. Roasted malt aroma. Light fruity notes, malt roast, somewhat bitter, layers with a minerallic note and the buttering hops. Caramel roasted aftertaste, slightly too sticky. Medium viscous body.

(bottle) Cloudy, orange-golden colour with a huge and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty, banana-fruity and wheaty aroma, accompanied by a mineralic and mildly spicy phenolic touch. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather calm carbonation for a Hefe. Quite yeasty and slightly stale wheat-malty taste with a delicate fruit-character; mildly sweet and slightly bitter-tart finish with a touch of spicy cloves. Rather mediocre Hefeweizen. 04.II.12

Bottle from Marktkauf, Wörth am Rhein
Hazy blond color; frothy head, not persistent. Despite the inviting package, this is a very poor beer, with light corn and paper aroma, and no noticeable flavor. Ordinary bitterness.

12/12/11/10/10/11
