This was another beer I found in Hall 12 (German breweries and food to eat with beer) during the 2014 Berlin Green Week: the brewery had a small bar within the hall, just like about 30 others. 0.3 litres on-tap, pale golden body with a white crown, clear, clean and bright: everything a typical German Pilsner should be. The aroma is weak, again very typical of the style: this one leans towards a grainy, semi-sweet smell. The taste follows along those lines with a dry hop undertone arriving strongly towards the end of each sip. OK, but so, so similar to all the other Pilsners I sampled on the day (and before, etc, etc): good solid beer without any special attributes to set it apart from it’s fellow Pilsners.

Bottle. Dark golden, pearling carbonation, offwhite head. Strawlike malt and bitterhop aroma. Metallic bitter base, light caramel, salt, hayish and strawlike malt bottom. Fullbodied chewy. Earthy and grassy finish. Long leafy aftertaste.

0,5 l swing top bottle. Pours clear red golden, nearly amber, in the glass, fine foamy head. Malt on the nose. Fresh malty at the start, sweet grain, a little bit too high carbonated. Later light roasted malt. Easy to drink on christmas eve.

Sampled from bottle @ Cafe Vingerhoeds, Oirschot. Clear deep dark mahogany red color, medium to full sized white head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, lightly earthy. Taste malts, roasted malts, lightly earthy, a slight touch of sweetness is hard to detect hidden behind the aforementioned flavors but it is there. Quite nice.

Bottle by Dohny, many thanks! Aroma dirty washing cloth. Really not tempting. Lightly hazy yellow colour, stable head. Taste is a bit empty, sweetish, light banana. Light malt. Average on an industrial scale. Light body.

Bottle by Dohny, many thanks! Aroma metallic, stale hops, oxidated, bad. Hazy yellow colour, full of sediment. Taste is empty, dull, stale, metallic, soapy, really bad. Sad to say, overall a catastrophe.
