Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

Cask (handpump) @ Craft Beer Co - Islington, 55 White Lion Street, Islington, Greater London, England N1 9PP.Unclear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus, earthy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, earthy hops, sweet, apples. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130327]

On cask at Sheaf View, Sheffield - Golden orange body, thin white head. Fruity nose, with hints of mandarin, grass and peaches. Taste is a bit more crisp than expected, rather dry finish, with a medium body. Nothing to shout about.

Hazy black colour. Aroma has strong roast malt and occasional sweetness of beetroot. Texture is thin but oily. Flavour is of a typical roast malt stout but with a sweet, earthy finish.

Aroma of burnt malts with a touch of smoke. Flavour has initial roast malts with strong cocoa aftertaste. Quite thin.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small head. Has a fair tropical fruit aroma but a much bigger kick in this respect in its aftertaste.
