750 c&c from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark ruddy brown with a light tan head. Aroma of unsweet raspberries. Med + body (probably due to foamy carbonation). Flavor is earthy malt evidencing mild oxidation and a fair amount of raspberry. It’s not so much sour or tart as it is mildly wild. Tough to describe, but it’s clearly a sour/wild, just not all that sour. Seems to develop mild chocolate notes with time, and the raspberry sort of pops up a bit at the finish. Rings several of my favorite chimes. Last minute observation: Bottle is starting to foam! At least it didn’t overflow at the start!

Bottle from gregwilsonstl, thanks for the opportunity! Crystal clear deep golden color with a yellow white frothy long lasting head. Caramel and fruity maltiness with plenty of citrus and light pine to counter. A hint on the sweet side, but pretty tasty.

Bottle/Fest. A- Coffee, espresso, cocoa, vanilla, subtle char, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. A- Coffee, mocha, slightly bitter, smoke, roasty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Big body and balanced too. Not as complex as I’d like but smooth and delicious.

Bottle/Fest. A- Yeasty, wheat, spices, citrus. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Wheat, spices, citrus. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- A pretty standard example of a style. Certainly doesn’t blow you away but it’s well done and very drinkable.

Draft at the Great Nebraska Beer Festival. Dark brown color, tan head. Huge coffee aroma. Taste has burnt espresso. Not bad.

22oz bomber, courtesy of gregwilsonstl, pours with a deep copper hop hazed body that supports a full tan head. The aroma offers up malt thickened pine hops to go along with thin citrus hops, thick spicy dank hops and then more various sweet smelling malt notes. The taste starts with thick malt thickened pine hops and then heading into a modestly growing spicy onion like hoppiness. Nice sipper as the malts try and create a near nectar like sweetness amid a sea of tasty pine hop bitterness and resiny hop notes.

750 c&c from Wine & Cheese. Pours copper with a slight beigeish head. Aroma of red wine with some wood. Med body or so. Flavor is woody, red berry, slightly oxidized wood. It’s oak astringent. There is finally some earthy Belgian aspect coming forth, but the barrel parts are pretty dominate. Tell me it’s geographically Westvleteren and I’ll believe it. Good stuff. I’d call it a Flanders red/sour.

22oz bomber, courtesy of gregwilsonstl, pours with a slightly hazy copper body that supports a tall light tan head. The aroma offers up sweet malts and citrus and some tropical fruit and then a light malt cracker sensation at the end of the draw. The taste starts smooth with malt sweetened citrus and tropical fruit notes. It picks up a dash of earthy and floral hops heading to midway. It remains hoppy sweet into the finish. I’d love to try this fresh on tap someday.

Bottle, shared by Willrunfor beer. I know He’Brew has brewed this over again and not sure ho it varies at all from that beer, I mean they have the same exact label for god’s sake.... anyhow... Aroma is light rye, fruit and syrupy malt. Flavor shows rye through the center with light tones of alcohol in the finish. Somehow this is hitting me just like the younger He’brew version seems to have hit me a bit better. Not bad but not getting me excited.
