22 oz bottle purchased at The Wine and Cheese Place in St Louis, Missouri. Pour is a hazed ruby brown with a one inch tan head. Breaks up and falls with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, raisins and a flinty, almost smoky smell behind. Taste is the raisins, spice yeastiness, caramel malt and the edge of smokiness near the back and through the finish. Palate is medium bodied, nice natural carbonation and a pleasantly lingering aftertaste. Nice one.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is cereal malts with a lingering hop in the backround. Flavor is some dry malts up front and again the hops kinda linger in the backround. Not the best version of this style I’ve had. None of the Belgains things or the hops really stand out. Still at only $3.99 a bomber its worth a try.

22 oz bottle purchased at The Wine and Cheese Shop in St Louis, Missouri. Pour is a hazy orange yellow golden with a one inch white head that falls pretty quickly. Aroma is straw wheat, earthy and natural. There is also a mineral flinty element which complements the wheat nicely. The spice is present, but light. Taste is citric wheat up front, cloves and lemon citrus behind that, closes out with the grassy wheat earthiness. Decent integration of flavors, though clove spice did jump out a bit. Palate has a nice silky mouth feel, along with a dry crisp finish. Tasty drinkable beer.

22 oz bottle purchased at The Wine and Cheese Place in St Louis, Missouri. Pour is slight haze copper golden with an off white one inch head which is firm and lasting. As it eventually falls, nice sheets of lace are left behind. Aroma is a dry green pepper vegetable up front, pleasant and fresh. Behind that is some softly sweet malt, and a spice yeast. Unique nose. Taste is the vegetal green pepper of the nose, its still fresh in the taste but just doesn’t work quite as well in the taste. The toasted malt, mildly sweet blends in nicely with the agave, and overall its a well made beer - just odd tasting. The finish is a bit of rye bread, and clove spice yeast. Palate is medium bodied, mouth coating, a bit of a slick lingering yeast finish.

Bottle thanks to BA abrand. Poured a clear dark amber gold with a lasting tan head. Aroma was quite musty with sweet grains and a brown sugar. Flavor was also quite musty with a bread note and some underlying brown sugar.

On draught at Iron Barley in St. Louis. The beer is a brownish-amber color with medium light beige head that diminishes to an outer ring steadily. Thin spotty rings of lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and dark fruits. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and dark fruit. The finish is sweet up front with a lingering fruit and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber. Pours a fizzy (yes... it sounds like cola) copper with a fizzy head that dies down to a slight film in short order. Aromas are malty... kind of a nondescript caramel malt with just a hint of what I’m guessing is agave, but it comes off as grassy with a little bit of a herbal funk to it. Flavor is pretty rugged... malt, overly active carbonation once on the tongue, an a kind of junky herbal taste that lingers on the palate.

cheers to Mike for the share. pours amber, white head. aroma, nice toasted malts, yeasty some earthiness, not too sure how this one relates to an abbey style. Welcoming aroma, though not to style. flavors, some caramel/biscuit malts, light yeasty notes, not much of the musty/earthiness that usually comes with the Trappist yeast the bottle claims to use. Overly malty with light notes of chocolate, mild dark fruits slowly come through. I am not certain where this one fits in the abbey category, the beer is nice and tasty but I just wasn’t getting much of the signs despite the use of Trappist yeast.
