Can at one of the famous Golders bottle shares, cheers to Kev, a man with a sense of humour. Pours pale golden, white top. Aroma: light malts, hint of citrus. Taste: light sweet, cereal, mize, corn. Also metallic notes. Light body, average carb, light finish. Probably tastes better in 35 degree heat

Im Urlaub will man nicht auf sein Bier verzichten. Und bei heißen Temperaturen will man ein leichteres Bier. Diese zwei Grundsätze nahm man sich bei der Produktion dieses Bier zu Herzen. Ein bisschen mehr Hopfen hätte vielleicht nicht geschadet, aber die Komposition der Aromen in Ordnung. Es ist ein leichtes Strandbier ohne besondere Ecken und Kanten, das sich aber gut trinken lässt. Den nordisch wirkenden Namen konnte ich mir übrigens nicht erklären.

Ein Bier, das mein Biertester-Kollege Moretum aus seinem Urlaub mitgebracht hat. Herzlichen Dank an dieser Stelle. Das Bier ist ein typisches Strandbier, aber besser als alles vergleichbare aus Lateinamerika und Asien -hier merkt man den positiven Bier-Einfluss, den die Briten hinterlassen haben. Trotz seiner leichten Spritzigkeit erhält es sich einen frischen hopfigen Ton und hat auch ein bisschen Malzigkeit zu bieten. Nichts spezielles, aber ein durch und durch brauchbares Bier.

Drunk from the can on the villa terrace in Cyprus. This is really dominated by the flavour of maize. There were no detectable hops and there was some malt on the palate, but everything else was just the maize. I chilled it right down and then necked it as quickly as possible.

A malty lager that was drunk from the can on the villa terrace in Cyprus. There’s really very little going on with this beer, no hops, quite a bit of malt and the maize lurking in the palate. It hit the spot in 35 degree temperatures, but it’s really not great.

Bottle at home, thanks to the Wingman for the country scope, 25/06/17. Pale golden with a modest white cap that dissipates to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is pale malts, corn, cereals, toasted grains, faint caramel. Taste comprises grains, faint lemon rind, straw, cereals, pale malts, light bread. Medium bodied, fine to spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Fine for the style ... not papery or stale.
