Can from the lcbo. Clear golden pour, with a large white head. Nice cereals and grassy hops. Light malts, bready, but nicely hop fragrant. Low bitterness, easy drinking. Nice stuff.

Can: Poured a dark golden color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice dry caramelized cereal notes with hints of spices and light yeasty notes. Taste is also a mix of dry caramelized cereal notes with some hints of species and herbal hops and a semi-sweet finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Interesting bière de garde but lacking some complexity.

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma carries a light fruity, raisiny note, light chocolate and toffee. Full body. Lots of dark malts, dark fruits and an overall sweet character. Definitely shows understanding of the style, even its lagery limitations that flatten out the fruity complexity.

Bottle. Dark amber-brown and sedimented. Rich dark malts, toffee, deep sugars, and then thwack of smoke comes through. On the palate, it’s definitely yeasty and young. The malts are strongly flavoured, bock-like, and smoke is rich…just undermined a bit by being too yeasty and/or young.

This red ale poured a hazy, deep amber colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Medium lacing. Scents include caramel, grassy hops and dough. First swig was smooth with just a little carbonation. Flavours of caramel, medium hops and toast. Finish is lightly bitter with that delicious toasty flavour lingering forever.
