On tap at the Stag’s Head, Manhattan NY on 2nd July 2013. Strongly red with off white foam ring and no lacing. Aroma of roast malts and berry fruits. Malty in-mouth with fruit and biscuit notes. Finish much the same but with some bitterness.

Rare bottle count of 460. Amber in color pour without any head. Nose is lime pith, grapefruit, caramel malt and pine. Flavor is much sweeter and smoother then I was expecting. Lime and grapefruit juice upfront with a caramel malt base. The bitterness is very light because the citrus juice takes over the flavors. The ABV is really nicely hidden and I had to remind myself to sip the brew. It was so juicy that it was easy to tilt the glass back. When I read the description before adding it to the data base, I was expecting a much bolder, hoppy brew. This is subtle and sweet. Real interesting and super easy to drink.

Pours bright copper into a tulip. Off-white soapy head crackles and quickly recedes leaving spot lacing. Earthy grain and hop aromas. Dry with sweet rice and caramel upfront turning hot in the lasting doughy bitter earth finish.

Location: Draft at the Amity Hall, 9/27/13

Aroma: The aroma has some caramel malts, toast, grains, and some earthy hops
Appearance: It pours a nice reddish-orange color and a tan colored head
Flavor: The flavor is both malty and hoppy, pretty much tastes like a hopped up Octoberfest
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent mouthfeel, average carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought that this was an interesting example of a generally uninteresting style. It's fairly unique and worthy trying. Not amazing, but good.

On gravity cask @ Blind Tiger House. Looks like it has been on a cask for sure. Cloudy deep dark amber on color and the bubbly translucent top that came in the pour is long gone before I get a chance to sit down at my table. Smells nice. Kinda sweet with licorice and gunpowder. Sorta peppery also perhaps? Smells really nice. Oh, lots of flavors there! Cask-flat of course and the mouthfeel is light oily. Almost salty in a way, lots of gunpowder, oxidation, lots of eastery banana, caramel, red really over ripe fruits and lots of grassy hops in the finish and aftertaste. Lovely stuff. 16.06.2013

Draft in 10 oz. snifter @ Gardner Ale House. Nose is malt (mostly toffee) and booze. Flavor is much like a Barely Wine. Malt, caramel and boozy, reminds me of a real young barely wine. Hop flavors are over whelmed by malt and alcohol notes. The 9.3% make itself known.
