29/1/2025. Cask at Ye Hole In Ye Wall, Liverpool. Pours clear deep ruby amber with a small creamy off-white head. Good pour. Aroma is fruity, berries, hedgerow, malty, caramel, biscuit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Not quite what I expected from the name but it was fair enough.

29/1/2025. Cask at Ye Hole In Ye Wall, Liverpool. Pours clear dark maroon brown with a small creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma is sweet plums, jammy, malts, biscuit, caramel, touch chalky. Medium sweetness, mild bitterness. Moderate body, quite smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyable plum porter.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours pale straw with minimal scummy almost white head. Mandarin and grapefruit in the aroma. In the mouth thereβs a brief burst of sweetness before it become quite bitter and juicy. A mixture of hops to the fore plus grains, stone fruit and bitter orange peel leading to a dry finish. This is decent.

Half pint from the cask at The Ship Inn, Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of light fruits, biscuit & light malt. Moderate body. Light bitter finish. Enjoyable

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Clear dark gold with small white foamy top. Stewed apricot and nectarine, grains, pepper, decent bitterness. Smooth body, light prickly carbonation. It grew on me a lot.

Cask @ Bridge Street Ale House, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Hazy dark brown with an off-white creamy head. Full of plum in aroma and taste fused with a dark maltiness - certainly gives established plum porters like J.W. Lees version or Titanic a run for your money! Quite rich in design.

Cask at Old Harkers Arms, Chester. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a medium sized cream head. Thereβs roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is somewhat sweet with a creamy texture. Malts are to the fore, along with a quite delicate plum flavour and hints of cherries and dried fruit. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. This is rather nice β tastes more authentic thsn the Titanic version.
