Very clear golden coloured body with a nice, very thick and microfoamed, six to seven centimetre tall off-white head that caps the crystal clear body nicely. Aroma of pretty nice, relatively dry and crisp grassy and perfumey hop notes with some light candy-like sweetness in the nose and some soft malts noticeable, too. Light-bodied; Relatively strong and funky biscuity, very grainy and off-putting malt notes show at first with a lot of pungency and overshadowing the softer and grassy, herbal hoppiness here. Aftertaste is very malt-forward as well, with a little hops here and some subdued alpha acid bitterness, but the grainy and more pervasive bitterness from the malts shows much stronger and there is no other fruit or sweetness to balance out the malts. Overall, not really what I was expecting - not a West Coast IPA at all and despite a nice smell, the malts are way too strong with no real complexity. Nice to try, I suppose, locally-ish, but not worth buying if you have any other options at all. I'm dissapointed with this one! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from The Sperryville Corner Store in Sperryville, Virginia on 18-June-2022 for US$4,49 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 26-June-2022.

Nost Nostos American Lager 4.5% Incredibly pale straw gold with fizzy fast dissipating foam and a sulfur tinged aroma. Medium to light bodied and a touch too gassy. Alright but definitely a craft take on amass market lager. Once it warmed up I got some surprisingly complex sweet malt notes. Ok.

Metallic nose leads to a very dry, very roasty lager, with mild notes of baking chocolate, pumpernickel, berry, and yeast. Finishes with roast and a modest floral bitterness. Not sure if it’s the brewer or the style, but not a pleasant pint.

16 oz can. Aroma is dark fruit and earthy malt and toffee. Roasted malt, dark fruit, lager yeast, earth for the flavors.. Balance is ok.. Texture is lightly syrupy and ends real earthy.

Pint can, WW. Dark brown, almost black with a small beige head. Nose is brown leaf, roasted malt, hints of smoke, hose. Brown leaf, roast, a hint of a sour something that's a bit off-putting, hose. Meh
