Description
OCB has been hitting, hopping and dosing brews with creativity since acid-washed jeans were hip — throwing a bit of kind into the kettle whenever possible. Look for our hop-soaked ales and delicious lagers around New England and the mid-Atlantic.
Acquired by Long Trail in 2010 with the brewing facility eventually sold to Whistle Pig. Currently operating as a brand owned and marketed by Harpoon.

Dark mahogany; light coffee nose; mellow palate with a good bit of smoke; thin in the finish.

Fresh hop aroma; hop-accented all the way. Not West-Coast, but more so than most East Coast pales. I liked it.

Nice deep brown color - though little head. Medium carbonation. Sweet aroma, with a hint of hop spice. Flavor is nutty, roasty, and laced with a tinge of spicy hops. Body is a bit on the thin side, which is just about the only drawback.

I think kenk nailed my feelings exactly in his review. There's not much that is outstanding but it is nice and drinkable. I found it a bit on the thin side for a winter warmer and its true - you really need to make sure this beer is no less than 55 deg F to really get the malt character out of it.

A spicy, almost minty aroma, a sweetish, grainy flavour, thin body and late astringency. Reminds me of Newcastle.

Out of the trio of distinct amber ales that I sampled tonight, this was far and away the best (against Murphy's Irish Amber and Wild Goose Amber Beer). Interesting and dry, with a pleasant maltiness and firm hoppiness.

This is a very nice porter. Dry and hoppy, with additional bitterness from roasted malts. Very dark reddish color, but not quite opaque. Medium bodied (could have used more body).

This is a very middle of the road American wheat. It doesn't have the spiciness or complexity of other wheats. Instead, it has a moderate wheat flavor and a fairly strong hop presence. Drinkable and quenching, but lacking.
