Bottle for the 25th of December, eating a good Peruvian seafood soup. Not really the kind of black ipa that you could expect, rather an amber/dark beer on the English or German way, smooth, some roasted malt on a dunkelmside, smooth side of cocoa, 28.12.21, at Epalinges.

A small bottle from Mia C’Bon near NCCU. Aroma: very inviting, fruity with some freshly mown grass. Appearance: opaque honey amber, lots of tiny bubbles rising, head is enormous and rocky, off-white with a creamy cap. Palate: medium-bodied and sticky, softish carbonation; lingering finish ending on a rather dry note. Taste: medium-bitter, a little astringency, some pleasing fruity flavour in the background, plums. Alcohol is there, even at 6.5%. Pretty good stuff.

For me, it was a good surprise, powerful French ipa, well balanced, full of aromas, dry hop, perfectly bitter, fruity, peach, lychee or it was my sensation, beautiful copper/brown body with deposit of yeast, lovely for the season, 29.03.21
