Pint at the brewery - clear gold - clean, medium sweet malt base makes way for a strong, floral bitterness that is quite high for the style, bordering on India Pale Lager territory - it works well, and overall this is a tasty hoppy lager, but really doesn't scratch the Oktoberfest itch - lightly unclean notes in the finish, but otherwise a well-executed lager.

13 ounce at Second Dawn - hazy gold - bright and fruit up front, with juicy tropical notes, followed by some more herbal and spicy qualities on the back end - finish brings another swell of tropical notes, mostly pineapple and citrus - I dig it.

Pint at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - fluffy head - medium dry, moderately bitter, strongly spicy - back end has lingering bitterness, a hint of tartness, some herbal complexity, white pepper - some sweetness comes to the front late but dries out again in the finish.

Pint at the brewery - clear gold with a pillowy head - super dry and assertively bitter, grassy, peppery, lemony - firm malt structure - super clean - I’d actually dial down the bitterness just a tad, but otherwise I’m really happy to find such a nice lager on tap within walking distance of my house.
