Bottle shared thanks to Santa Gurthnar. Very dark brown with big dark beige head. Figs, caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, light Indian spices, burnt wood, brown sugar. Under medium sweet and light bitter finish. Medium bodied with slick syrupy feel. Quite good for the style.

Bottle thx to Benzai, small sample. Slight hazy yellow to golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma of grainy malt, grassy hop, bit flowery. Soft bitter taste, bit grainy sweetness. Felt more like a hopped up pilsener. Quite tasteful, but didnt think of it as an IPA.

0.33 l bottle from ’Mitra’ Enschede, best before 26/1/2016. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, tan to white head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny aroma of mango, orange, honey and pine. Sweetish, fruity-malty taste of mango, orange, honey and some pine, followed by a medium long, rather bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent, unfortunately a bit old.

Bottle brought by Marko, thanks! Very easy drinking, tasty. A bit of an alcohol bite, but the warming sensation is in pleasant intensity. Mostly roasty, with some dried fruits, plums. Good.

On tap at Medvedgrad Ilica. Deep brown coloured, small creamy off-white head, fruity hoppy nose. Roasted malt, citrusy and fruity hoppy, touch of alcohol and some herbal notes in rather mild roasty finish. Loooong bitter aftertaste. Not the best from Medvedgrad but once again decent brew.

2016:Now, last year, even though my review doesn’t note it had some diacetyl and I was eager to try it again this year. On tap and in the bottle at the promo. Dark brown-red body with a small off-white head. Mild herbal-citric aroma mainly, but fine. Taste... again the hoppy citric and herbal notes up front, light chocolate, light caramel, some licorice (!) even, especially in the tap version that night, solid bitterness. Light, but clean and nice, well balanced. Definitely a good, if lighter perhaps flavor-wise, Black IPA. The rating stays, fully earned. Hats off.2015:First commercial Croatian "Black IPA". On tap at Medvedgrad Ilica back on Thursday. We’ve come a long way, baby! :) poured a hazy cola-dark brown body with a small creamy off white head. The first glass I got wasn’t washed properly, so I got some off notes in the aroma that I didn’t noticed at second try, so they didn’t really belong to the beer. Immediate note of aroma hops, citric, slightly sweetish. Soft, medium body, with a long, roasty finish, light chocolate. Solid bitterness. Mild citric-herbal notes. Slightly too subdued, but leet it warm and they rise up and mingle well with the rest. A well crafted, tasty beer that won’t knock an experienced beer drinker’s socks off, but will definitely be my weapon of choice for as long as it’s on tap there. Good job! 7/4/3/7/14
