My take away from the nearest beer shop to me, I can only appreciate. I have a 12 oz can, Citra, not bad but Mosaic is my favorite hops. A snifter from a Houston brewer, keeping it in Texas, I make the pour. A generally transparent, dull gold liquid, a stout head of completely white foam, enough of that. An all right nose, smells more New England to me than West Coast. The taste, well, not so fast, impressions can change. Citrus strongly, a touch of yellow fruit, hops, field, malt, turpentine and crackers. A nice bitterness and a subdued sweetness. Decent in a style not my favorite. Maybe Citra is a nice compromise to my tastes.

12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a cloudy applesauce color with a small white head and decent retention. Spotty lacing. Citrusy hops aroma. Like the aroma, the flavor is hop-forward and fairly bitter for an APA, with grapefruit notes in the finish. Medium-light body. Average carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Tastes like every other American pale ale.

Can. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with medium creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is dank and grapefruit pith. Slick body, dank, resin, lingering bitterness, boozy, very nice.

This 16.9 oz bottle was found at Mr. T’s earlier this summer and I have a globe glass ready for it now. The delivery is a hazy gold with a light cover of almost white foam. The nose is faintly chocolate and grain. The taste is different but I’m not put off. I get a bit of chocolate, cereal, a small taste of toffee, malt and an assured bitterness. Unusual what with the color and all. Not my favorite from Lone Pint but well worth it in the price point.

Can from H-E-B, Bastrop, TX. Clear golden, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of ripe pineapple, apricot, orange juice, grapefruit, biscuit. Taste has sweet apricot & mango over a biscuity malt base with bitter grapefruit peel accent. Bitter, dry, piney & floral hoppy finish, very citrusy, grapefruity, dry tonic and warming gin-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very enjoyable.

A curious combination of styles, I’m intrigued because I can appreciate a good barley wine. Another of Lone Pint’s uniquely shaped 16.9 oz bottles with an engaging label, I pull the cap and tilt into my New Belgium globe glass. The arrival is an orange and amber liquid with a temporary, substantial head of creamy tan foam. The nose goes more with hops with some fruitiness in the background. I take a drink and get a lot of hoppy pine, peaches, a bit of citrus, paper, yellow plums, hard candy and grain. Sort of all over the place with taste but not a problem. Some bitterness and there’s also an assured fullness. The brewery is taking a chance here and I believe they have succeeded.

So. El Dorado. I will have to be educated. Lone Pint good at what they do, let us get going. A sizeable 16.9 oz bottle born on 11/12/21 and acquired at the closest craft beer shop not long ago. Snifter from Delirium used previously this evening, catching a Texas IPA now. I see a murky, lemonade colored body with a tall top of snow white foam. The scent is sweet, well, pineapple sweet describes it. A drink, not bad. Cedar, malt, a moderate hoppiness, some bitterness, honey and citrus. The taste is bigger than the 6% abv. Style should be an IPA by my judgement.
