Forholdsvis pålitelige notater fra romjulstreff i Jæren Fråholdslag. Etter 14 svenske øl (alle nye bryggerier for mitt vedkommende), er vi nå over på en serie av tre indonesiske øl fra Nilsas Travels. Her en 0,44 boks: klar mahognyfarge med fint skum som varer. Lys kaffe, mørke chokolader, røde bær, hint av citrus og urter. Balansert og lettdrikkelig med mild bitterhet og mye mersmak.

Tap, Beer Brothers, Ubud. Clear golden, medium creamy white head. Quite grassy and slight cellar nose, wet grass. Medium bitterness, slight soury cellar feel. Mild aftertaste. Light and fresh. A bit on the sour side, but refreshing.

Draft at the Legian brewery taproom. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light smoky, ashtray. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, light smoky, red berry fruit, light sweet caramel, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced. Awesome!

Draft at the Legian brewery taproom. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a lasting frothy white head and some broken lace with a few bubbles. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a fresh, crisp, buttery toffee malt, piney, earthy, woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A superb “session” beer. More body and flavour than I was expecting.

The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, malt, light toffee, light herbal, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy golden orange colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is strawberry, light yeast. The flavour is moderate sour, with a fresh, crisp, mineral, somewhat light, tart strawberry palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Perfect for the climate.

320ml can from Lola’s Craft Beer Bar, Sanur Beach, Bali. Poured a clear almost black colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, buttery caramel, light dry ashtray, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
