Clear, bronze color. The aroma is caramel, banana, wet grass, walnut, and pine. Sweet and yeasty, with a mellow, sticky bitterness. Light to medium body, syrupy, and hard. A bit aggressive for the style, but tasty enough.

Draft at The Handlebar. Brown pour, skin of silky tan head. Malty, toasty aroma. Taste is caramel, toasty, sweet, nutty. I haven't had a Scottish Ale this dark, but it really works. So flavorful without being heavy.

16oz can pours out amber brown color topped with a sand head. Nose is some nice caramel malts corn hust and a little grassy hops. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel toasted malts and a grass bitterness.

On tap at Barley & Sword, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of resinous hops, chewy caramel malt, and plenty of bitterness. Flavour is very chewy, with lots of resinous hops, chewy caramel, and big bready malt. A bit syrupy and clumsily balanced. Needs a bit of work.

On tap at Barley & Sword, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is soft, with English bready malt and a hint of dry soft cocoa. Flavour is full of dry English bready malt, and a hint of oyster-like tartness. Dry and very English. It's fine at best.

On tap at Barley & Sword, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma had crackery malt, straw and a touch of grassiness. Flavour is clean, with straw, soft grassiness, and crackery malt. Needs a lot more Saaz spiciness to be a true Czech Pilsner. It's alright.

On tap at Barley & Sword, pours a clear pale copper golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is subtle, with light grass and sweet cereal malt — doesn't really smell like a helles. Flavour is not particularly on style, with sweet cereal grains and gentle grassiness. Drinks more like a weak German pils than a helles. It's fine.
