Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Hazy, orange beer with an off-white head. Pine-apple, pine, hops, fruits and sugar in the aroma. The flavor has candi-sugar, fruits and some spicy notes. A bit thin body, but definately good. Lovely, sweet finish with sugar and spice and all things nice. (060826)

Dark brown color; creamy head. Wonderful aroma, complex and delicate; fruity (oranges, dried apricots, peaches…), more mellow than the average IPA; in the background there is a touch of English hops, and the resins give an herbal hint (myrth). Good body structure, not sticky; malty flavor with the addition of caramel; resiny and aromatic hops, strong, to balance the sugars. The final, powerful, has an accent on the burnt sugars. An excellent beer.

Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. A bit un-clear, reddish brown beer with a beige head. Roasted malt, fruityness, hops and some alcohol in the aroma. Alcohol, roasted malt and hop-fruityness in the flavor. Drying finish. Another well-brewed beer from Mikkeller, this lovely brown ale. Rating: 7-4-8-3-15-3.7. 060826
A copper brown beer with a nice looking light tan head leaving lacings. Nice hoppy aroma, pine and resin, as well as coffee and roasted malts. Piney and resiny hops in the flavor, nice bitterness too, with roasted malts and some coffee in the background. Full-bodied and quite sweet. Good bitterness in the end, both of the hoppy and the coffee-like roasted kind. A really lovely brown ale. 100827

Muddy, no head. Big ass malt nose. Chewy, with light candyish notes. Very sweet with hints of candy and earth. Fairly yeasty, too. A bit aimless.

Hazy brown body. Off-white, lightly brown head. Aroma of malts, hops, liquor, port, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Nice beer with some complexity and IPA-bitterness.

Muddy dark amber color with creamy beige head. It has that naive aroma of the old times, hoppy, smelly, cheesy, grassy, sweaty; a bit homebrew, but it’s nice and expected. Full bodied, well carbonated, smooth; it has a smash-in-the-face pure just extracted malt sweetness; very strong bitterness, which is in balance with the rest; the alcohol doesn’t even feel as if it’s up there; it has a fruity character too somehow, and an impression of nuts.
A Barley Wine as I want it (apart from the Thomas Hardy’s style which is another thing). Thanks Mikkel for reviving this one!

Nice amber color, just hazy even after shaking the bottle a lot; flat. Nice aroma, malty, mild compared to what it used to be. Strong body, very sweet malt flavor but not syrupy or sticky, thanks to the alcohol content too; there is sweet caramel and a nice sweet nutty side; it has a strong bitterness, the hop is well balanced, not much aromatic but still quite resinly and oily, with traces of Alpine herbs (and digestive liquors). The alcohol warms the mouth but it’s not burning at all. Still very good.

Cloudy amber color. Aroma of green hops, light fudge, fruity. Oily mouthfeel, sweet flavor, extremely hopped, fruity, light resins, almost no alcohol perception, fruity freshness. The Porto wine of beers. Incredibly dangerous. What a beer guys!

Dark brown color. Delicate aroma, of cappuccino and chocolate. Full mouthfeel, well malty, with a good mix of caramel, roasted malt and hop. Long and strong final, based on the milky, coffeish roasted malt. Very good.
