Brought home and served in a becher pint glass as that’s the correct glassware for an APA.
The appearance was a pale to hazy yellow to orange slightly off white color with just a cap of a little white foamy head. Trickling light lace.
The aroma had a blend of orange pulp to semi-sweet biscuits with a light vanilla. Light melon and then light grassiness, swift yet clean and firm.
The flavor definitely leaned towards the sweet side with a touch of resin forming the overall taste. Pillowy sweet in the finish. Not much of an aftertaste, just super light all around.
The feel was about medium bodied with a clean sessionability about it. ABV felt appropriate and the carbonation felt good as well.
Overall, nicely done APA well worthy of having again. Wish they would bring this back.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy golden color with a thin white foamy head that softly died off. Some light lace.
The aroma had a semi-sweet citrusy pulpy to bitter notes over top of some light Brett and a little bit of freshly cut grass.
The flavor reigned in the previously mentioned aromas in a semi-sour fresh taste. Slight citrusy semi-sour aftertaste and finish.
The feel was light to medium bodied. More of a sipper as the Brett creates some sour harshness to ride along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, nice way to bring in Spring with this one. I’d have again.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a fairly dark pink color with a sturdy finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Moderate lace.
The aroma had a sweet and tart cranberry flesh and skin peel into some citrusy sweet and bitter pulpiness. Quaint bitter rind compliments fairly nice.
The flavor punched the bitterness out to allow the tart and sweet flavors of the cranberries come forth a bit more. Sly cranberry tart aftertaste with some kick in the finish, but nicely done.
The feel was just a tad under medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt good. Some acidity, but not distracting.
Overall, a cranberry saison? I liked it and would like to have it again, but Foam barely brings anything back. I hope they bring this one back.

Had to bring this home to truly put it to its test in a becher pint glass, only true way to review an APA.
The appearance was a murky toasty pale orange color with a sustaining finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Slight lace.
The aroma had some vanilla/cake-like/biscuits over top of some grassy and citrusy hops which weren’t that bitter. Light bubblegum. Everything seemed to come off sweet.
The flavor leaned towards the sweetness of the malts and hops complimenting themselves fairly nice. Nice aftertaste of the malts and hops. Some pop from the hops in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a full scale sessionable quality about it. Pretty smooth with the hops and the malts. ABV felt fine. Carbonation felt good.

This was poured into a tulip. I always feel more comfortable pouring my sours into tulips, okay, all is right in the world after all.
The appearance was semi-murky to light blonde color with a foamy white head dieing off at a decent pace. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had some dried wood/oak tannins, nice sweet to sour funk, sweet vinous quality, some apple cider vinegar, little bit of citrus rind, and ends with a nice tart.
The flavor leads full throttle with the sour to the funky to tart quality over coating a nice refined sweet vinous quality about it. Apple cider vinegar was slightly there. Aftertaste is full of the oak and sour funkiness.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sour abrasiveness but dropped a bit by the oakiness. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty nice sour ale and worthy of having again.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a burnt semi-thick orange color rimmed with a finger’s worth of foamy white head. Slow dissipation, some soft stringy lace.
The aroma had some vanilla, orange pulp, light lemon zest, earthy to grassy hops and a little bit of some papaya.
The flavor leaned into the sweet parts of this beer pulling the citrus in to play with the vanilla in a semi-biscuit/cake-like arrangement. Light aftertaste in the same manner. Sly slick sweet finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a touch of the cake/vanilla edged smoothness pulling down the abrasiveness of the bitterness that is there. ABV felt spot on.
Overall, I hate reviewing IPA’s in tulips, not sure why people think we’re supposed to review them in tulips these days. What happened, well, I am 100 percent sure I’d be able to pull everything I just said in a becher pint glass.

The appearance was a cloudy yellow color with a quarter finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated fairly nice. Not much lacing.
The aroma had some sweet tangerine pulp with it’s rind, somewhat coming through in some bitter portions. Light pine/sprucy freshness.
The flavor was juicy bittersweet popping the sprucy freshness through into the glow of it all. Nice aftertaste of juicy bittersweetness. Full throttles itself into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a good carbonation about it. ABV felt spot on. Loaded with pure bittersweet smooth to abrasive quality fully coming across my tongue just as I wanted.
Overall, very nice AIPA that I would love to have again in that New England style that everyone is going nuts about.

Very cool, almost glowing, bright, uncooked sweet potato orange color with a solid haze and a beige head atop showing moderate retention (strong if you are rating to a sahti, which generally have no head retention).
Juniper, honey, light caramel, spicy white pepper and hints of earthy funk and mineral. Wow. Not bad, not bad at all...Definitely more malt here than your average sahti, though there are plenty of strong sahtis in Finland that this does wonderful justice to. Juniper is not overdone or astringent and the malts are soft and comforting providing light sweetness but are still well-attenuated. Soft earthy funk and light umami with a low but engaging carbonation. Bready biscuit, cereal, caramel and other various stewed grain notes. Great stuff and my favorite one of everything they had on tap this visit.

More pine and grapefruit than expected but the pineapple and mango is certainly still here. Very spicy, almost coniferous and dank with lots of spice and pepper. Some light alcohol and ester mix together on the end and the malt is very light with only cracker and biscuit to support the hops.
In the mouth it certainly is more bitter than what I had expected with grapefruit and pine matching the dry pineapple and semi-sweet mango and nectarine notes. The carbonation is tight and engaging and the malt supportive, though very dry. Bitterness is a bit higher than I prefer, with some definite alcohol warmth, but I don’t think this is a mess or trainwreck by any means. Just more of a West Coast DIPA than a NE one.

Dark ebony with deep amber-mahogany highlights and a tan head atop showing good retention.
Rich char, vanilla, oily roast and treacle with tons of baker’s chocolate and ash on the end. Some alcohol comes through and the attenuation seems very high here, as there’s little fudge and only moderate to light caramel-like character.
Odd soy, peanut brittle and tar-like notes in the flavor seem heavily given over to the specialty malts with little regard for balancing base malts. I got a lot of strange off-notes, with tons of peanut and soy, almost DMS-like. Low carbonation, medium-bodied and not really boozy but just strange. Not trying to go against the grain here, but that’s how this one came off. Neither Nelson nor I wanted to finish it.
