On cask at Sailor Hagar's, pours a hazy copper golden with a medium white head. Aroma is quite fruity, with notes of tropical citrus fruits, resinous hops, and candied malt - quite aromatic for a pale ale. Flavour brings out loads of English hops, stone fruits, and caramel malt. Quite robust and full-bodied for the style. Very solid stuff.

On tap at Sailor Hagar's, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out coriander spices above anything, along with citrus and wheat. Flavour is all spice, with loads of coriander coming out. Not much else, other than a bit of citrus and a wheaty mouthfeel. This is one of the spicier wits I've had. Decent.

On tap at Sailor Hagar's, pours a say golden with a small white head. Nose brings out corn, maybe a touch of honey, and grass. Flavour brings out light honey and crisp crackery malt. Served way too cold, so the flavours aren't coming out that well, not that it's very potent to begin with. Decent pils.

Hand-pump at Sailor Hagar’s
Brown color, creamy head. Light caramel and very light butterscotch aroma. The body is weaker than expected, there is caramel flavor, low bitterness. The hand-pump allows for lower carbonation, which is better for me. Simple but easy to drink

Draught at Sailor Hagar’s
Golden color; creamy head. The aroma is lightly fruity, at least this one has some aroma, from Sailor Hagar’s. The mouthfeel is quite dry, but there is a good toffee flavor, a very strong bitterness, with a good share of hop oils and resins, and bitter orange peel. Solid.

Hand-pump at Sailor Hagar’s
Hazy dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma is light, but there is a good caramel flavor, quite sweet, with respectable bitterness. Not fully British, but quite good.

Hand-pump at Sailor Hagar’s
Cloudy golden color; nice creamy head. Light fruity aroma. Low carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, good malt and blond caramel flavor, correct bitterness, with hints of hop qualities; shades of toffee in the end. Highly drinkable session beer.

Draught at Sailor Hagar’s
The aroma is light, it reminds me some cider. Dry mouthfeel, malt and caramel flavor, maybe with a light trace of honey at the end; strong bitterness. Simple.

Draught at Sailor Hagar’s
Golden color, hazy. The aroma is light; there is light caramel flavor, quite dry, with a shade of toffee. Drinkable Ale, though the last thing I would associate it to is a Wit.

Re-rate 10 years later at the source. It's dark brown with good creamy head, okay biscuit on the nose though it does come across as watery. The flavour is more sweet biscuit with a big watery streak. Medium finish but not fulfilling. Simple and simplified, needs more attention to its style but probably works for the coughing 75 year old next to me whose tastebuds are shot from several decades of heavy smoking. September 2009 - Bought as a bottle quite awhile ago. Lives up to its name quite well, lots of nutty flavour in this one, some malts, but really too nutty a flavour for my tastes. Comes across as a little artificial, and low alcohol content doesn’t help me to get tipsy to enjoy it more either. Still okay, just not great.
