Description

On tap at the Brauerei-Gasthof zur Post, Erding, as Fischer Helles. Crystal clear golden / yellow colour, moderate white head. High level of carbonation in the glass. Moderate aroma of light malts, a hint of grassy hops. The flavour is nice and refreshing, with more distinct hops than expected from an industrial helles, quite good actually.

bottle, kindly delivered by joss - Danke! Clear pale golden colour with a large white head. Malty with hints of aromatic and floral herbs, that have a nice spicy-herbal touch.

08/12 Draught at Scout Irish Pub in Samobor. Pale yellow bodied with medium fluffy head. Sourish (unpasteurized?) aroma with citrus and dusty notes. Very nice flavor, fruity with banana and lemon, well balanced inclining to sweet. Although not thin bodied it is very light and goes down so quickly it leaves watery impression. Finish is pleasant and quite long, but as I’ve said bit watery. The waiter warned me the keg is low, but this is still very good beer, which I could drink in every occasion and daytime.

Yellow, whipped-cream like head, leaving some flimsy lace over yellow-golden beer. Very fresh smelling beer, bit of malinic acid, apples, kiwifruit and pale malts - and alcohol. Warm, slightly alcoholic-sweetish flavours in a quite grainy taste. Bit of greenery, strange but known flavour. Bit toasted. Light to medium bodied. Dry finish & aftertaste, peach flavour in the aftertaste. Very dry beer, the alcoholic touches are strange for such a low ABV beer.

On tap (@ Dachsbau, Krefeld, called "Schloßbrauerei Mariabrunn Helles") Pale yellow, mid-sized white head. Mainly sweetish-malty aroma; sweetish flavour; dry malty finish with a bitter tinge. Drinkable, but boring...............

(tap at the Dachsbau, Krefeld, as „Schloßbrauerei Mariabrunn Münchner Helles“) Clear and pale yellow colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Sweet malty aroma with cake dough and a dense note of herbal hops. Sweetbitter flavour, medium to light bodied, crispy mouthfeel. Initially sweet malty taste, slightly acidic, moderately dry finish. Drinkable but boring Bavarian Helles.

On tap at Tolkien’s House, Zagreb, Croatia (where else...). The tap had an Erdinger sign on it, and the bartender told me that it was brewed by Erdinger Weissbrau for the brewery workers, but that kegs of it are starting to find their way out of the brewery more and more often. Guess it isn’t. Anyway, it’s of a nice golden colour, well carbonated and with a nice thick head. The nose was sour, and that’s that. Unlike the others, I didn’t care for it much, at all even (update: tried it again twice more, and the nose was ok and malty..). The beer itself was quite nice though. Pleasant lemony taste, with some hints of good malt, faint but pleasant hoppy background and aftertaste. Nothing too flashy, and would probably turn out not as good if it were to be bottled or canned, but it’s, basically, good beer, well worth trying if you can find it.

From Tap Grassy bitterhop nose. Golden, low carbonation, head not too stable. Haylike malt and dry herbal hop flavors. Fizzing mouthfeel and a dry hop aftertaste I would say its closer to what counts as a pils here in the southern parts.
