330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dark fruit, morello, cherry, dark berries. Taste is tart-ish fruity and dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, morello, cherry, bramble, some residual sweetness. Harmonious - quite nice.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Tart-ish, tannic aroma, hints of green wood, fruity hints of unripe gooseberry, rhubarb. Taste is tart, minimally dry, minimally tannic, woody, fruity, hints of sour berries, unripe gooseberry, rhubarb. Simple, monotonous, fairly refreshing.

From the bottle. Amber in color with a thin, creamy white head. Aroma of apple cider, rum and oak. Reminds more of a barley wine than a traditional German Doppelbock. Taste is more tart than sweet, but the tartness is mild, full of warm rum and apples. Medium body, soft carbonation, very warming. Quite nice.
