Description
In 2010, David and Andy were looking down the barrel of economic downsizing in their industry. Looking at it as an opportunity instead of a problem, the two set out to take their basement hobby to a new level. The dream of all home-brewers; to go "legit" and open a commercial brewery, presented itself as a once in a lifetime opportunity. The two agreed upon a Nano Brewery (1 BBL brewhouse). Although they were hopeful it would be well received, they had no idea the amount of interest the locals had for craft beers. Along the way they found and hired on some awesome people to bring the brewery altogether. Blackrocks still brews beer at the original pub on 3rd St, as well as a 20 BBL production system in Marquette. two key ideas fuel Blackrocks on a day to day basis, always make the best beer possible and always have fun while doing it.

12 oz. can, thanks to Stacy. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow color, with a big, frothy, white head. The aroma is bitter oranges, cardamom, pine, and butterscotch. Sweet and citrusy, with a significant, but pleasant, bitterness. Light to medium body, grainy, very acidic, and clean. This is a pretty nice, balanced, and aromatic IPA.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 7/5/2017. Pours hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Dense foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderate bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent hoppy American pale wheat ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Great juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hop character; balanced malts with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz can. Filtered looking yellow-tan body.. Foamy white head. Pretty pleasant Cream Ale, though a little hoppy and bitter for the style, as opposed to straightforward, creamy, sweet. Medium bodied. Easy drinking, pleasant balance. Good.

12oz can. A classic early 2000s "East Coast" IPA. Filtered golden-orange body. Foamy off-white head. Pretty well done, not off in any way. Old school classic grapefruit/pine hops tones. Pretty clean body from the filtration. Good.

12oz can. Unfiltered copper-amber-brown body. Thin to no head, some traces rim the glass. Interesting flavor profile, the lavender and honey are a pleasant combination. Medium bodied, the honey gives it a little thickness. Middle of the road stuff. OK.

12oz can. Deep ruby red hued brown. Steady beige head. The coconut works well with the base beer. Pretty tame and straightforward. Malt centered, sweet, pleasant. Pleasant toasted coconut tones linger in the finish. Good.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice coconut note with bread and a touch of dark grains. Flavor starts with coconut but finish also has bread and dark grains.
