12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottles on 9/11/2013. Gusher upon opening, very high carbonation. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a ton of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of toast, brown bread, light caramel, golden raisin, pear, apple, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of toast, brown bread, light caramel, golden raisin, pear, apple, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, plum, pear, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with solid robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. I let the carbonation dissipate in the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a nice mild ale. Well balanced bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast flavors with solid robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks troubles. Cloudy orange. Mild hoppy aroma of some overripe fruits and a bit of yeast. Flavor has light maltiness and bitter hoppiness, a bit citric.

Very clear golden coloured body with a zillion small bubbles rising from the bottom, a nice four centimetre tall just of-white head and no haziness at all. Aroma of fresh grapefruit and piney hops with a quite floral and grassy nose, a touch of malt and a very biting hop smell - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and floral hops at first with a good bitterness, but almost no malt at all to provide a backbone - this is just a big hop hit at first that fades to just about nothing in a very quick timeframe. Aftertaste shows a good herbal and grassiness, some straw and hay notes and a good hop bitterness without weighing down the beer. Overall, a decent IPA with more of a california-styled IPA, but this one is still worth trying if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 17-September-2013.

Decided to have a 2nd brew while finishing the wonderful Mary had a Little Lamb Greek style pizza before heading to work. Pours deep hazy brown with soapy head. Nose of earth and lightly floral. Tastes of yeast, nuts, raisins, woody, leather, dark fruits, and some blonde roast coffee. Aiight.

I was seriously hungover but knew I had to hit up this joint for the pizza and glad I did. I find stouts to be easiest to drink when nursing something as epic as this. Pours black with thin plum head that quickly dissipates. Nose of chocolate and cherries. Tastes of dark cherries, chocolate, earth, coffee, raisins, light smoke, and cough syrup. Quite enjoyable hair of the dog

Super hazy, chunky orange coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head and a few bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of wheat, yeast, light citrus and a bunch of sugars. Medium-bodied; Deep malt flavour with a lot of wheat and yeast tastes, some light sugars, a touch of caramel and some light spiciness. Aftertaste shows some mild yeast, a little spices and a bunch of alcohol and sugars. Overall, a good American wheat with a strong sweetness. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 30-July-2010 for US$1.89, sampled at home in Washington on 25-November-2010.

This brown ale poured a very deep brownish red colour with a nice big brown coloured, foamy head. To the nose there are scents of vinegar, roasted malt, nuts, caramel and cocoa. First sip was a tiny bit over-carbonated but not to the annoying level. This gave the beer a slightly thin mouthfeel. Flavours of roasted malts, nuts and smoke were in the forefront. Finish was smokey and roasty.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with a slightly yellowish brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a honey note that was back by darker malts and a slight roasted note. Flavor was sweet honey with slight roast and some coffee coming through in the finish. The beer had a nice creamy mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with little head. Aroma is pretty much just roasted coffee. Flavor is a typical brown ale, with roasted coffee and earthiness. Okay.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is some light citrusy hops on top of biscuity malts, with a touch of sweetness. Flavor is similar, with a nice lemony citrus hoppiness and a bit of honey sweetness to compliment the biscuit and grain flavors. This seemed like quite a nice example of the style to me.
