Bottled. Very black with brown head. Hoppy licorice aroma. Very dry and nicely malty and a little chocolatey. I really appreciate the fact that they've made a stout this big so dry.

Golden colour. Softly malty, nearly chewy. The low carbonation contributes to a pleasant, very soft and filling mouthfeel. Flavourful with a hint citrus, but rather low bitterness. One of the best North American lagers I've sampled.

A tasty pint of black. Not as fruity or burnt as some Imperials, IDIS comes across as a suped-up version of an Irish stout. It is hard to brew a stout this big without a lot of esters, so it is somewhat unique in that respect. Lots of rich, mocha-like malt flavours, adequate bitterness, and a long, dry, roasty finish.
