Description
The idea of having our own brewery has been in our heads since we launched our first beer, The Black Pot, but we really started thinking about it in the beginning of 2018.

Living in a small town near the Ceahlau mountain means fresh air, great views, many things to do (especially in summer) but there is not much social life. So, this was our first question: build a brewery in the area through which we make the decision to stay here or move to a big city where you have many more opportunities, give up on this idea / dream and continue life? You already know the answer… 😊

Sampled at Borefts 2019. Black with dark beige head. Huge Tonka on the nose. Roasted malts, light earthy, Tonka, vanilla, toffee, sweet brown sugars, light coffee. Quite sweet and solid bitter. Full bodied.

Hazy golden, white head. Nice spicy herbal aroma, a touch of malts, bitter sweet meadow herbs. Similar taste, low on malts, moderate herbal bitterness. Soft carbonation. A bit on the thinner side. Nicely done.

Sampled @ Borefts 2019. Cloudy pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma's: juicy, citrus, resin. Retronasal: very (too) resinous bitter, light citrus. Flavour is resinous, sourish, moderate bitter. Light bodied. Chalky mouthfel. Long finish where the resin retains. Not great.

Draught @ Borefts 2019 Aroma has coffee and some acidic tones.Flavour has coffee, licorice and some green apples with acidic notes. Tastes like the beginning of contamination.

Nice ripe citrus and dank herbs. The flavour is really simple, dry, slightly fruity. Crisp body, really low bitterness (too low?).

330ml bottle from trade (thanks Neil). Pours pitch black with an enormous frothy tan head (over-carbed?). Aroma of roast malts, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is all malts, roasty, dark chocolate, coffee, hint of dark fruits, bitter. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle @ Beer Temple. Black. Roast and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty flavor, with caramel and licorice. Full bodied. Slightly alcoholic. Good.
