Bottle, shared at the satellite 10K tasting CBC Clerko, 19/08/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white swirl and edgework. Nose is light funk, dank wood, musty, lemon peel, vinegar notes. Taste comprises quite a dose of acidity, dank wood, fruit balsams, oaky, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dank tangy acidic vein pulsing in the close with a light throat scrape. So so sour, 1D and pretty acidic, I could handle this but only in small doses!

(On tap) Clear copper with slight white head. Nice floral aroma - rather reminiscent of rose petals.Light body and medium carbonation. Taste is light, refreshing and elegant. Slightly honey sweet, floral with a hint of stone fruit and negligible bitterness. Nice easy drinking beer.

Draft at Dodson Street. Clear amber color, strange for a porter, tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of hoppy caramel. Taste is roasty caramel. Odd. Not unpleasant, just odd.

Draft at Fork and Brewer. Clear deep amber color, off white head. Aroma of perfumy pine. Taste is herbal pine and creme brulee. Really interesting. And I’m glad I won’t get scurvy today.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish.
